Babywatch 2015

Here we are again.  Still in a holding pattern.  The good news is, the certificate has come, and I have been able to update my social security number.  Huge weight off my shoulders.  Everything is finally updated in the military database (which was a hassle and a half) but at least now I exist to them.

Now, orders.  Oh, and house selling.  The good news is, the husband's old house is finally getting bids and we can unload that thing.  Neither one of us have any desire to live in Texas (#sorrynotsorry) and will be so happy once we can be rid of all ties with that.  So here's to hoping this deal goes all the way and we can be done by the end of next month.  Then will be the working on this house, and eventually putting it on the market, because yet another state we don't really want to continue to live in.  (#stillnotsorry)  For the orders, supposedly we just have to wait for funding.  Once that is said and done, then comes the paper work with the Ex.  But one thing at a time.

Speaking of one thing at a time, we have entered the next phase of life.  No, it's really not that fast.  In the grand scheme of life, we're in our 30s, we know what we want, and we know what to do to get it.  (heh)  After much discussion, we decided we are going to try for a baby.  As a result, I have lost my ever loving mind and everything is a question.

I am a perfectly rational adult.  No, for real.  For real, for real.  But apparently, in the world of baby, all rationale goes out the window.  It's ALMOST as bad as wedding planning.  Almost.  Except it's all internal and you have no idea what is going on with your body. (#wasthatacramp?)  This is month one.  Time to play the guessing game as to how fertile am I, nearing 34.  I may or may not be able to be saner in about a week.  Maybe.  Probably not.

Hurry Up and Wait

Life this week is pretty run of the mill.  I've been tapering off on how many crafts I've been making.  Not because I'm getting bored, but more because I've been doing a lot of searching online and checking out what I can make with this machine and getting ideas.  I'm sure I'm about to hit another large spurt soon, just have to be careful with all my spending before I go completely broke on just buying craft supplies!

After some minor drama with PSD, all of our paperwork with the military has been updated.  That's a nice relief as they will finally be able to cut orders for the husband and we can actually plan things, like the move as well as selling the house.  However, we have to wait for funding to cut the orders.  Hello there, hurry up and wait, how I did not miss you at all.  It's a good thing that I've lived this before, first hand, and nothing seems to surprise me at all.  I could not even imagine a life where I just had expectations of what should happen and was let down on the daily.  You just cannot do that with the military, and I have never understood how people do that.  I have always had the hardest time relating to civilian spouses or even people who "grew up" in the lifestyle because the world is incredibly different when you have been that military person.

At any rate, order are coming.  Then comes the fun part of dealing with the ex to get that paperwork in order so the boy can leave the state.  We've talked prior and everything is in the green, but who knows if he suddenly changes his mind.  I'm hoping not.  The boy would be devastated if he wasn't able to move with us.  Here's to hoping that the ex stays on this streak and all is good.

In the immediate now, I really need to get packing.  We leave tomorrow for California (because it calls to me, and doesn't want me to stay away long...) for a work function with my company.  So that will be a nice little sort of, but not really, get away.  Warmth.  I cannot wait for the warmth.  This snow has been no joke.

I may be obsessed

I just got my entire crafting area put together and it is amazing. I cannot stop making things, and it is glorious. One of the first things I made was a decal for my computer.  I'm not gonna lie, I love it. I wont tattoo my name, but having it in a decal is way fun.

The setup we have is really nice for light too. The husband put this together for me after our Ikea trip. I out together a coffee table and a counter/cart thing for the kitchen in the time it took him.  It's super solid though, and you would never believe it was Ikea if you saw it. Definitely worth it.

Lastly, I made some decals to send to a dear friend who is having a baby soon. She's due in March, and her nursery is in a Peter Pan theme. This was totally a pain to make, but I hope it works well for her. Now if only the post office would actually deliver! I mailed it all off and now it's not arriving when they said it would. So frustrating.
